the proposed birth year + parish for John Addy is of course wrong - the originator of the tree that Donna used hadn't looked at 1747 will of John that shows he married 1st Mary Curghey c. 1727 (as Mary's fa was a vicar marr was likely to come before 1st child wch was Joh feb 1728/9 - it may well be that John was from Ireland as the two deeds 1740 + 1746 show that he acquired property owned by some in Ireland - also as Mary was of high social status (fa vicar + rector) likely that John was known to family possibly via Mary's mother who also it seems had links to Ireland - the deeds are summarised on Manxnotebook) then as a widower married Christian Clark as Quirk - he was in some form of trade as the tools whereof were passed to his son (Christian was widow of a cooper so possibly John as also a cooper - his son John was set down for for a public house licence in 1754)
