Re: MESSAGE FOR MARYM
In Response To: Re: MESSAGE FOR MARYM ()

Hi Ewan , you seem to be on a crusade to find every Alice on the Isle of Man, can we have more background ?
I tried to connect Isabella Amelia to the Alice who was buried 1923 but was not able to do so.
Isabella was the daughter of William Thomas Foster and Elizabeth Eleanor Caren ( was varied to Caven, Carew, Cowen and Carer on the IGI ). William and Elizabeth m June 5 , 1869 in Bradden , children :
William Charles 27/3/1870
Richard Edward 24/12/1871
Thomas John 13/9/1874
Robert Henry 21/9/1876
Isabella Amelia 7/6/1878
Ernest Phillip 28/4/1881
George Herbert 27/4/1882

Richard died age 3, Thomas 3, Robert 1 and Ernest 5 days (!!!!!!! how could you cope with that )
Elizabeth buried 18/9/1888 aged 48

On 1891 census William 45 , Isabella 12 and George 8 are together in Douglas .
William appears to remarry on 24/6/1900 to Charlotte Annie Collister , 20 years his junior.

However on Brian Lawsons index to the 1871 census there is the following Foster family in Malew:
Edward C.C. aged 31
M.E. (f) aged 31
E.E. (f) aged 2
A.C.A.(f) aged 1

I have no idea why just the initials , have never seen that before ,but the A.C.A looks interesting , could not trace this family anywhere. The reference is
5777. 165. 5

Cheers
David
