Frances, the cost of 9.50 for a certificate is roughly the going rate from some registry offices, I don’t have the necessary reference number to qualify for the fee of 7.00. I think you get what you pay for when it comes to expense, I have had a few certificates from the Isle of Man and I have found the service to be a good one. As information that I can learn from this death certificate is not related to an ancestor, I would of liked to have found out a little more information about this person before I went ahead and purchased the certificate.
MaryM posted details of 2 more ‘Fosters’ with one of them, Isabella Amalia, being from Port Erin the same as the Alice Foster who was buried in 1923. I have still not be able to locate Alice Foster on any censuses on the Isle of Man, so possibly she lived there after 1911.
