I still can't understand why John is a tailor in the 41,and 61 Census...yet a 'farmer of 20 acres in 51.
On his headstone it reads'tailor', yet his wife declares she's a farmer's widow in 71 Census. Probably like today...just tried something else for a change.
I have noticed in some Census employment sections that men often describe themselves a 'farmer and miner'...2 jobs.
