To his honor deemster Gill a Judge of the said Div
The humble petition of William Shimmin and Mary Ann Shimmin is wife both of Glendhoo in the parish of Ballaugh.
Shweth: That Jane Caine mother of your petitioner Mary Ann Shimmin departed this life on or about the 16th day of February last having first made and published her last will and testament in writing whereof her appointed your petitioner Mary Ann Shimmin executrix.
That petitioners are desirous that probate of the said will is granted to petitioner William Shimmin in right of his said wife.
Wherefore petitioners pray a hearing hereof and that your Honor may be pleased to grant probate of the said will to your petitioners William Shimmin in right of his said wife and petitoners will pray.

Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard before me at a court to be holden at Peel on Monday the 29th day of April 1889 .
Whereof all proper persons and parties are to have due notice.

This is the last will and testament of me Jane Caine widow and relict of Thomas Caine of Rhencullen in the parish of Kirk Michael in the Isle of Mann, Landed proprietor deceased.
I revoke every will codicil and testamentary instrument by me
heretofore made and executed and declare this present paper writing to be my last will and testament.
I devise to my daughter Mary Ann Shimmin all and singular my undivided moiety of my late husbands purchased lands of every description and wheresoever situated of which I am (seized not sure this is right word)and possessed according to law as such widow relict and all my
right title property and interest therein with the appurtenances to the same belonging to have and to hold to my said daughter Mary Ann Shimmin and to her heirs and assigns absolutely and forever.
Provided nevertheless I do declare it to be my will that if my son Thomas Caine do within three calendar months next after my decease pay to my said daughter Mary Ann Shimmin the sum of one hundred pounds
sterling in lieu of my said undivided moiety of my said undivided purchased lands so devised by me to my said daughter Mary Ann Shimmin that in such case and on the said sum of one hundred pounds sterling
being paid and satisfied to my said duaghter then my said undivided moiety of the said purchased lands shall revert to and become the absolute property of my said son Thomas Caine and all my right title property and interest therein and every appurtenance to the same belonging to hold to him and his heirs and assigns forever,but not otherwise.
Subject to the payment of my just debts funeral and
testamentary expenses I bequeath to my said daughter Mary Ann Shimmin all and sinular my household furniture, goods and effects, stock, money, money in Bank or banks, bills, bonds, notes securities for money share in public companies meaning and intending hereby to convey to my said
daughter Mary Ann Shimmin the whole of my personal estate of every description and quality whatsoever and wheresoever situated for her own absolute use and benefit I also appoint her sole residuary legatee of my personal estate - I nominate constitute and appoint my said daughter
Mary Ann Shimmin sole executirx of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof and of every thing therein contained I have hereunto
subscribed my name this day of May 31st in the year One thousand eight hundred and seventy eight (1878) Jane Caine
Signed and acknowledged by the said testatrix Jane Caine as and for her last will and testament in our presence who at her request at one and the same time in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses hereto.

February 1889 William Shimmin of Glendhoo aforesaid husband of Mary Ann Shimmin a daughter of the testatrix the executrix therein named is sworn in right of his said wife well and truly to fulfil and execute the same and to administer the personal estate of the said deceased according to Law.
