Thanks for the trouble you've taken in 'phoning the Registry and replying to my query, it is much appreciated.
I'm already used to paying the standard £9.50 to the GRO on the mainland for certificates (I would probably give up FH research if I had to pay the shudderingly high charges of, for instance, Ancestry who's standard fee is £22.99 [£39.99 for express delivery in a somewhat tardy 6 days] ) but, since I anticipate needing quite a number of death certificates within the next few weeks/months, I was hoping to save a few pennies.

I shall whittle down the the numbers and then follow your advice to send my applications with ManxBMD references and details as accurate as I can make them.
