Thanks for all the interesting information on Thomas's possible ancestors. It is hard to get back before the censuses unless you have access to the parish registers - is that where you found 1785 Thomas' baptism? If so, I wonder if there was any mention of a location in the entry? I would love to know more about his Arbory family, where they lived, etc. The name Moore crops up several times over the generations in my tree and they all seem to originate in Arbory/Rushen at some point, even if distant. It would be interesting to see how/if they all link up. Do you know of any wills connected with any of these Moores?

Incidentally, Thomas Moore (1785) predeceased his wife Eleanor Kneen - she is a widow at Knocksharry, German in 1851 and there is this burial - MOORE, Thomas, 64, Ger, buried 4 Feb 1849 [Lawson] which looks like him, so the move away from Arbory is still a mystery!
