Hi Sylvia , I don't think this is your Robert , it appears this one is the Robert Clague , the convict who departed London 5/7/1845 on the "Equestrian" , after being convicted at the IOM Azzizes and sentanced to a term 7 years . This Robert was 23 in 1845 and gave his family as :

Father John , mother Betsey , brothers John and William , sisters Ann and Jane .

I checked the IGI and John Clague and Elizabeth Killey/Kelly were married 28/9/1816 Kirk Michael , son John ch 2/3/1817 Kirk Michael , so he must have married and left by 1841 .

So you need to check the other 60 Robert Clagues born 1817-27 on the IOM on the IGI (some double ups due to LDS members)
