on 1st edition O/S 25"/mile sheet X.8 there is just the one cottage (possibly what is now known as Kates but unnamed on the Map) at was the end of the fenced road there being a physical gate to constrain animals (sheep) to the commons so it may originally have some connection with the forester who controlled access - this whole sheet contains just that one dwelling around that area with one other dwelling some 500yards to east on what I think is now known as Creg-na-baa back road. The cottage is at what in TT terms is known as the Creg-na-baa straight
