Re: Catherine Kermode, wife of Henry Skillicorn

Hi Lois, Averil, Sue,
As I understand it, the entry in Lonan Baptismal Register [confirmed by Lois & Frances] reads " .....RY ; -[parents]- Henry Skillicorn and ....RY Garrett". This has been assumed to be HENRY because there is no record of a subsequent event for a MARY Skillicorn [I've checked all Frances' marriage transcripts + Lonan records [never very good for children's burials!].
Sue, the sons of John Skillicorn and Katharine Skillicorn m.Lonan 1722 were Henry 1733, Thos 1740, and John 1744 - all b. to "John of Ballaragh" - so this also fits for a Thomas who married Isabella Goldsmith. I had assigned the Thomas who d.1798 as s/o Phillip/Mary Garrett because some of his n.o.k. were John and James [but of course he also had a bro Henry!] - so "flip a coin"!!. Perhaps if we keep digging a "universal" Skillicorn solution will emerge!
