Re: Catherine Kermode, wife of Henry Skillicorn

Hi Lois,

Thomas's burial in Maughold has Thomas SKILLICORN, aged 75, Rhone, buried 11 Jul 1852.

His mother could possibly have been Catharine CORMOAD bapt 12 Feb.1748 Andreas daur of Patrick Cormoad. A witness at her Lonan marriage was John Kermod. There is a John bapt 30 Jan.1741 Andreas, Father: PATRICK CORMOAD (Member's submission on IGI).

Father Henry only named Thomas in his will but had other children, and referred to Thomas later in the will as his said son, indicating possible other sons? There was a Henery 06 DEC 1772 Lonan son of Henery - another Member submission.
Perhaps Thomas was the youngest and his father thought he'd already helped out the older ones?

A bapt for Catharine Skillicorn with father Henry Sept 1781 Lonan (extracted entry) could be this Henry, or the Ballaragh Henry.

There is a Catharine Skillicorn burial Lonan 26 May 1791 on Brian's list who I can't see elsewhere. Could be Catharine Kermod? I couldn't see this entry on the FHS Lonan burials.

Brian's wills index has:
CORMOAD, Patrick 1766-1 And A 26 0106224
CORMOAD, Patrick 1766-2 And A 75 0106224
