I have a John Taubman in my tree, married (abt 1855) to Letitia Cregeen (b. abt 1837), children James (abt 1855), John (abt 1857), Elizabeth (abt 1859), William (abt 1860), Jane (abt 1863), Thomas (abt 1865), Catherine (abt 1868), Richard (abt1869), Joseph (abt 1870), Edward (abt 1873), Letitia (abt 1878), Mary Ellen (abt 1878) and Henry (abt 1881) (Phew!!)

My problem is that in the 1861-1891 Censuses, his approximate birth date is given as 1825, 1829, 1826 & 1827 respectively. In addition to this confusion, he has appeared in a public tree on ancestry.co.uk with an estimated birth date of 1822.

I had originally earmarked another John as his father (b. abt 1800) but I now think that his father was James (b. abt 1794) and would greatly appreciate any information or advice to enable me to proceed further with my tree.
