Thanks for that - your infor fills in a few gaps and also extra information. The info I have so far is

William born 1850 ,father Arthur (Otho), married Margaret Ann, widow born 1850 father Robert Nicol, Liverpool 3 june 1886.
They had a daughter born and buried I o M., Caroline.

William died mar 1/4 1895 in Chorlton I believe so he is not on 1901 census.

His father Arthur (Christened Otho) was my great, great grandfathesr brother. He was also in the IOM with his brother George but he is listed as Wild and not Wylde. At the 1891 census he is down as a waiter at the Queens Hotel.
