Thank you for getting in touch. Eliza (Kelly) Christian Surplice was the
daughter of my grandfather's sister Annie Christian. My aunt Sarah told me
that "Aunty Liza" had died aged 100 just after I had started to research my
family history. I only wish I had been told about her earlier. I knew that
there was a Surplice connection to my family but didn't find out about
Welles until 2007.

If you would like any information about Eliza's family then please just ask.
I would certainly be interested in hearing about Welles Surplice. My aunt
told me that there was a minister in the family and I presume now that this
was Welles Surplice's father.

My family name was Christian before I married and I have visited the island
and seen some of the places where my family lived.
