Frank Bacon Fleetwood
In Response To: Re: Early Fleetwood Family ()

Hello Pat

Thanks for the message. The information about the marriage is interesting. Would you be willing to share the details? My email address is susan@iancawthorne.co.uk

I don't know a huge amount about Frank. I collected his date of birth and baptism from the IGI, but that information is contradictory - birth in February 1830 and baptism in January 1830! So I need to look at that when I can get to the MM.

I have his burial from the Isle of Man Family History Society website - 9 January 1890 at Onchan. I am hoping to go to Onchan church to see whether there is a stone with further information.

According to the 1851 census Frank was a mariner, which would account for not tracking him down on any further censuses. It would be really great to learn about some of his travels, but I suppose the chances are pretty slim.

I have tracked his ancestry back to about 1650 with the estimated birth date of a Thomas Fleetwood in Prescot, Lancashire. I am hoping to make further progress back in time, but I need to collect a will before going any further.

Regards.................Sue
