The 1841 and 1851 census have a number of families with the name Boyd living next to each other or together at Glendoo Ballaugh.

IGI has an extracted entry for a James Boyd married to Catherine Corlett 1846 Ohio. I can only assume John is working away at this point, such as the one in Lambfell Moar German.
