I think I've found them in the 1871 census, but I'm not sure the result is going to help very much:
RG10/5777 f.194 p.9 sch.49
No. 8 Ballacorry(?), Andreas (Dist 4)
Thomas Joughin - h - mar - 28 Farm labourer - born Jurby
Elenor Joughin - w - mar - 29 do. do. - Andreas
Thomas Joughin - son - 8 - born Andreas
Elizabeth Joughin - d - 7 - Andreas
Umphra Joughin - s - 5 - Andreas
Jane Joughin - d - 2 - Andreas
Emma Joughin - d - 1 - Andreas
I wouldn't have found them except for Brian's Index (even though there's something wrong with the initial buttons today) as Ancestry has indexed them as Thomas & Elmas Loughin. Brian transcribed 'Umphra' as Humphrey which makes more sense!
So this has Eleanor born in Andreas abt 1842. Could she have been born there and baptised somewhere else? The mother's parish perhaps?
In 1881 they're in Whitehaven (dist 16) RG11/5178 f.62 p.35 as
Thos & Helen Joughin aged 37 & 39 both born just "Isle of Man". They are with children Thos (labourer in Coal pit), Elizth, Humphrey, Jane, Emily (11) and Eleanor (2)
In 1891 Humphrey is a blast furnace (maker?) from Ramsey married to Christiana, in Whitehaven.
His father Thomas Joughin [Ancestry = Jonghin], now a coal miner, is living with wife Ellen aged 49 both from "Isle of Man" at 62 Queen St, Whitehaven, Dist 14 (RG12/4314 f.111 p.25 sch.161) With them are their children Thos, Emily, Ellen J (11) and William J (9) and nephew John Corkill aged 11 born Cumberland St Bees.
By 1901 Thos Joughin [Ancestry = Loughin] is a widower aged 57, Coal mine banksman (above ground) from the Isle of Man. He still has 27 year old Emily at home, 62 High Queen St, Whitehaven, Dist 14 (RG13/4892 f.131 p.12 sch.145).
So, unfortunately, there is only that one reference to Ellen's birth parish.
I haven't looked for Ellen before her marriage.
