Thanks to all for the help. I'm now doubting whether my Jane Turnbull was married to John Turnbull. Jane Turnbull was my gg-grandmother. Her daughter Margaret Ann Turnbull (b.1855 Liverpool) was my g-grandmother (married to George Cribbin (Crebbin) and living in L'Pool)
Here's what I know:
-- In 1901 Census, I have George, Margaret, and the family tracked properly in Liverpool.
-- In 1881 Census, I can find George and Margaret Cribbin and family in L'Pool (ages, birth years are OK). Also living with the family are Margaret's mother Jane Turnball (age 52, b~1829 IOM) and Margaret's sister Isabella Turnball (age 14, b~1867 Liverpool). Jane is listed as a widow and sick nurse.
-- 1873 Marriage Index shows George Cribbin and Margaret Turnbull married in Liverpool.
-- In 1871 Census, Jane Turnbull (widow, age 42, b~1830) living with daughters Margaret J (age 16, b.1855) and Isabella (age 4, b.1867 L'Pool) living in Liverpool.
-- John Turnbull died in 1870 in Liverpool
-- 1861 Census shows John Turnbull (head, ship carpenter, age 36, b~1825 IOM), wife Jane Turnbull (age 34, b1827 IOM), daughter Margaret A (age 6,b1855 Liverpool) and daughter Catherine I. (age 3mo, b1861 L'Pool). Visitor/House Servant Ann Cubbin visiting (age 34, b.1827).
Confused -- 1861 census age for Jane is not consistent with known 1881/1901 ages) yet many other similarities. A tree on Ancestry lists my Jane as Jane Clague born 1830. However, this thread indicated John Turnbull married to Jane Cubbon born 1827. Is my Jane Turnbull either of these two Janes?
