John Turnbull was the son of Hugh Turnbull (b 1790) and Margaret Cregeen, He was born in 1824. His siblings were Thomas b 1819 who married Anne Gawne who died in 1845. He remarried Eleanor Maddrell. Their other children were Catherine b 1822 and Hugh b 1826 (possibly died young).
Only child of Thomas and Ann was William b 1845 who married Jane Watterson (nee Wade). They lived in NZ. (Further details if needed). Thomas' children by Ann Maddrell were Joseph, Margaret b 1848, Eleanor b 1850 who married Thomas Davidson & John Thomas b 1852.
I am a descendant of Hugh's eldest brother William Turnbull who married Eleanor Moore.
