there is a Robert bapt Douglas St Matthews 17650125 - s/o Alexander McBride + Cath Cowle - no marriage found nor any further children to this couple but not indicated as illeg (tho some clerks esp Douglas could be very lax) - I have a Robert McBride receiving aid in 1818 (look at ManxNoteBook eg use search engine there) + a burial at Douglas St Georges (somewhat up market as compared to St Matthews) 18330112 age 70 - no other McBrides - usually at DSG there would be a Memorial - but there was Cholera 1832/3 with 34 burials reported for St. George's in 1832 and another 86 for 1833 (tho it is suspected that these were typhoid not cholera) - very few of these (often the poor who would not normally have been buried here) have MI's
