McBride is not a Manx name - however there are a few records of McBrides on the Island - eg John McBride a merchant in Douglas (in Militia in 1798) died in sinking of Lord Hill packet in 1816 (his will is in 1819); a certain servant Cath McBride was responsible for dismissal of Deemster Gawn due to their mutual misconducts. A Robert McBride (on poor relief in 1818) died in 1833.
However there would appear to be no McBrides in 1841 or 1851 census.
Tho the Island became a tourist resort in mid to late 19th C it was not such until the advent of reliable steam packets from c. 1830 (and probably not really until post 1850) that the Island saw middle class industrialists from Northwest of England send their family over for the summer
