Quoting from your earlier message:
"The 1901 census information is my family and I have got 1911 census aswell, which has got 6 children and the second to youngest is my Grandad, but it also states that one child died. On the marriage cert for William H it states that his father was Edward Gawne (deceased), so checking the 1851 cesus took me to believe he was from IOM because found marriage cert on Scotlands People for William H parents which says that his parents were Henry Gawne and Margaret Kenn but everywhere I look I cannot find the Kenn name associated with a Gawne all that I can find is Gell and that Edward was illigitimate. The only reference I can find that puts Edward with Henry and Margaret is the 1851 census. So with that information I followed the IOM route but he has been a major sticking point. Everything I have got to that point is (as you said) solid ground. "
Jackie, can you write exactly what it says on the marriage cert of Edward Gawne (I'm assuming that that's what you refer to as "marriage cert on Scotland's people for William H parents" )
