The IGI at FamilySearch.org has an extracted entry (from the parish register) for JOHN BREMNER Birth: 19 NOV 1828;
Christening: 16 DEC 1828 Banff, Banff, Scotland; Father: WILLIAM BREMNER, Mother: ANN CHEYNE, which looks very close to what you have.
Perhaps the family had spent some time in the IOM, and John was born there but baptised when they returned home?

There is also a LDS Church member's entry on the IGI which has the information you gave - but it is not from the parish register, and has no sources.

The Scottish one looks authentic.
