I looked up Muriel b.1896 in the 1901 census.
The family is in Ramsey at 3 Bourne Place, with Edward aged 55, a Shoemaker Bootm., b.Maughold, and wife Alice 44 Confectioner Baker, b.Maughold. Both are employers.
It looks as though Edward has been married before. Eldest daur in the (1901) household was Kezia, S[ingle], 30, Shop assistant, then Eleanor, S, 24, Confectioner, Emily, S, 22, ditto, all b. Ramsey, then daur Effie KELLY 16 Shop assistant, b. US America. Also Alice H., 6, Muriel 4, Philip W. 1, all b.Ramsey. All Skillicorn except Effie Kelly.

IGI has KEZIAH MARGARET SKILLICORN bapt 25 NOV 1870 Ramsey, daur of Edward Skillicorn & Catharine Ann [assume CHRISTIAN, marr Maughold 1867]. - I'll look up this marriage for you next.
