There are fewer than 60 Moughtin wills in the index, so would make a great one-name study - in the same way that Brian has researched Creech (see Creech wills page).

My interest in Moughtin is John Moughtin who in 1850 married Jane Brew of "Close Illiam" Lezayre (she was buried Jurby 1861). Their daughter Caroline Mary Moughton bapt Andreas 1852 moved to Ramsey with her half-sister, and in 1871 Maughold married mariner George Henry Woolvett. Her father named as John Moughtin, farmer.

I didn't follow up what happened to John Moughtin after Jane's death, nor which family he came from - he was aged 48 b.Jurby in the 1851 census, so perhaps son of Patrick Moughtin & Joney Quayle.
