Hi Len, I remember the Laverocks. I have seen info online years back, I believe it was Ancestry.com, that had Grandpa going to Youngstown, Ohio to his brother-in-law, George Beatty. I remember that name as well. I don't think either Laverock or Beatty were in-laws at all. I do know you had to have somewhere to go and stay when immigrating, so they must have felt compelled to make these family friends instant relatives. At least to my knowledge, they were not related. But what do I know...

Married in the presence of (sister) Margaret Phillips (known as Maggie), and James S Jarvis. They were united in matromony by George A Geffery, from the Cambridge Street Baptist Church.
