There is a good vicarage-house and garden, situated near to Ballamoar.
Until the year 1714 St. Patrick's parish church was in Peel Castle islet, where are still the ruins, said to be the oldest in the Isle of Man [Fpc - Patrick & German shared St Peter's Peel from c.1560].
In Bishop Wilson's Life are mentioned numerous donations which he gave for the use of the new church, which he was chiefly instrumental in building.
The registers commence in 1714.
Communion plate-three silver cups, one silver paten, one flagon, electro-plate ; one flagon, pewter, 1711 ; two patens, pewter, 1711.
By an Act of Tynwald, promulgated 20th October 1710, the parishioners of Patrick were "for ever freed from all charges and assessments towards the repair of the church or chapel of St. Peter's in Peel."
By a memorandum at the end of this Act it is stated, " That the effects mentioned in this Act to be in the Lord Bishop's hands and at his disposing, is a parcel of sheet lead in the Cathedral of Peel, and his Lordship having acquainted this Court therewith, they are of opinion that the said effects cannot be better applied than to such pious uses."
Captain Silvester Radcliff and his son gave part of their estate of Knock-Ally-Moor[Knockaloe] whereon to build the said parish church, a churchyard, vicar's house, and garden.
In the aforesaid Act are given the names of the parishioners who were willing to give a helping hand towards the building.-Mill's Statutes, pp. 186-192.
It is in contemplation to build a new parish church at Glen Meay,
and to repair the old one in some measure for the use of funerals at
the parish burial-ground adjoining.
[This was not done - instead the church at
Kirk Patrick was rebuilt]
