RESPECTING PROTECTION FOR THE AFORESAID ISLAND TAKEN INTO THE HANDS OF THE KING. A.D. 1405. JOHN de Myles, who, in obedience to the King is about to set out to the Isle of Man, to seize and take the castle and island aforesaid into the hands of the King, along with the beloved and faithful soldier of the King, William de Stanley, and who will remain there for the safe custody of the castle and island aforesaid, has letters of protection from the King. Witness the King at Rypon the 11th day of June. By Bill of Privy Seal. The underwritten have similar letters of protection from the King; namely :- John Hope. |

JOHANNES de Myles, qui, in Obsequium Regis ad partes Insulæ de Man, ad Seisienduzn et Capiendum Castrum et Insularn prædietam in manum Regis, profecturus est, ibidem, in Comitiva, dilecti et fidelis Militis Regis, Willielmi de Stanley super salva Custodia Castri et Insulæ prædictorum rnoraturus, habet Literas Regis de Protectione (cum Clausula volumus), etc. Teste Rege aped Rypon undecimo die Junii.
