Journal of Manx Museum

Issued in 8 volumes; Vol 1 started 1924 and then quarterly until 1939 at longer intervals subsequently.

• Volume 1 - numbers 1-29 - short newsletters, notices of meetings/lectures and including much from other Museum (non-Manx) newsletters
• Volume 2 - numbers 30-41 - issued every 3 months 1932-1934 - more detailed articles plus start of 'Unpublished Documents' section in which various documents in the care of the museum were published for the first time.
• Volume 3 - numbers 42-53 - issued every 3 months 1935-1937
• Volume 4 - numbers 54-63 - March 1938- December 1940
• Volume 5 - numbers 64-73 - issued every 6 months June 1941 - 1946 (last two issues combined and published 1946)
• Volume 6 - numbers 74-81 - recommenced 1957 some issues had 2 year gaps then anually from 1964
• Volume 7 - numbers 82-88 - issued anually 1966
• Volume 8 - number 89 (last issue) 1980

Ceased publication with issue number 89 in 1980 - for no given reason though corresponded with appointment of new director who moved the Museum away from an 'academic' emphasis towards the award-winning popular style.
