1831. WILL OF THE WIFE OF ARCHIBALD CREGEEN, OF KIRK ARBORY, COMPILER OF THE MANX DICTIONARY.
In the name of God Amen.
I Jane Cregeen wife of Archibald Cregeen of the parish of Kirk Arbory being of sound disposing Mind Memory and understanding do make this my last will and Testament as follows:
First I commend my soul to God and my Body to a christian burial.
I leave and bequeath unto my son Jonathan ten pounds british to be paid for clothes or some other Necessary at the decretion of my Executor.
I leave & bequeath unto my son Thomas my half of the houses lands and premises in Ballagarmick & Colby that is to say a field called the Deu-chleiy the Crofts & a field called Thalloo-eayl to be by him possessed on the Decease of my Executor.
I leave & bequeath unto my Daughter Charlotte wife of John Keown ten pounds brit to be paid on the Decease of my Executor also.
I leave & bequeath unto my Daughter Frances wife of John Braid and Mary wife of Thomas Williams twenty pounds brit. each one half of each to be paid two years after my Death and the other halves to be paid after my Executors Death.
I leave and bequeath unto my Daughters Catherine & Elizabeth Fifty pounds brit each one half of which is to be paid respectively as they arrive at the age of Twenty five years and the other halves on my Executors Death.
I leave & bequeath unto my Daughter Jane my half of that Dwelling House & concerns situate in Peel where Basil Mylrea now lives as tenant and Twenty pound brit. when she comes of Age or twenty one years.
I leave & bequeath unto my three Grand children John Keown Margaret Keown & Catherine Braid five pounds each to be paid on the Decease of my Executor.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my loving Husband Archibald Cregeen whole and sole Executor of all the rest residue & Remainder of my goods chattels & effects real & personal, that is to say my half of the Houses lands & premises where W. A. Bilton Esqe now lives as tenant and the field occupied by Henry Narsaw Elliot situate in Peel aforesaid the Houses lands & premises called Cringhill my part of Colby Mill in the parish of Arbory & my part of the House & concerns in Castletown tenanted by W. Christian, with all Bonds notes Money & effects of every description & denomination excluding & debarring any other person that might have a right with two & sixpence Legacy this 12th Decr 1831.
