REMINISCENCES OF THE MANX LABOUR PARTY

Introduction and Appeal

Kerroocoar, Devonshire Crescent, Douglas.

Dear Friend,

Having been persuaded to write his reminiscences of the Manx Labour Party, Mr. Alfred Teare has expressed the wish that a fighting fund be created to secure greater representation of the Labour Party in the Legislature and other spheres of public life, and the proceeds of the sale of this booklet be devoted to that fund.

The whole Island and its people owe him an irreparable debt which, if you do not already appreciate, you will under stand when you read his reminiscences.

During his life he has not only been instrumental in raising the dignity and standard of living of all workers, but has been responsible for much sound legislation for the good of the Island.

May I ask you to do your utmost to make the sale of this booklet a success and if you feel disposed to recognise the unselfish and indefatigible service Alfred Teare has rendered us all, I would be happy to receive your donation for "THE ALFRED TEARE FIGHTING FUND."

Yours very sincerely, EDWARD CALLISTER
