[From Atholl Papers - AP X17-7]
My Lord
Your Grace will receive the last quarters abstracts, the ingrossments of the laws, which, under your Graces permission (signifyed to me by the Comptroller) has been passed by the Legislative Body here, are transmitted for your Graces assent. I ordered the Compr to inclose in the parchment No 4 the form of your Graces assent & confirmation of these laws (which are comprehended in one Act) in case they meet with your Graces Approbation; they were brought to a hearing after some alterations & and are very promising & sett your Graces Courts here in a more respectable light, remove some old absurd Customs and encourage goodhusbandry to the general good of this Isle.
Chas Lace is daily expected from Scotland and by him your Grace may expect all the money that can be had, as also the few tythe deeds which will be then ready.
