Peter John Heywood to Duke The Bishop,very ill,has gone to Edinburgh for advice, taking boat about a mile from Bishopscourt for Galloway. Character of Sir Wadsworth Busk, and his ignorance of Manx law. It being suggested that the Lt.Gov.should go on extended leave,his duties being performed by a Commission consisting of Mr.Quayle,Deemster Moore and Sir W.Busk,the disadvantages of this are pointed out. The proposed new drain at the Lhane,with a sketch plan to show its course.
Another vacancy in the Customs service should be filled on the Duke's nomination to prevent Mr. Lutwidge adding to his influence by doing so.

(Smith) who has now started making them to Ecclesiastical posts.
Reason why Tithes let for five or six years should fetch a better rent than if let for three years.
