Peter John Heywood to Duke queries the right of the late Bishop's
executors to do certain things, and mentions the large amount of timber
he had had cut, much of which was sold. Would the Duke like to buy any of
the furniture from BishopsCourt for his new house in Douglas ? More trouble
over appointments by the Gov. (Smith) who has now started making them to
Ecclesiastical posts. Reason why Tithes let for five or six years should fetch a better rent than if let for three years. |
