This paperback was produced for the 200th Anniversary of the 1765 Revestment that produced a major change to the Manx Constitution and the relationship between the Island and the UK. Aimed at a general audience it included no references to the cited texts, nor did it make any suggestions for further reading - in practice there was few studies available that looked at the two aspects of that Act - the 'Running Trade' (or smuggling) on one hand and the constitutional issues on the other - in the half century since then there has been several lengthy texts on each. However this early contribution, though very much of its time, is still of interest.
