In the name of God Amen. I JOHN GAWNE of the Howe in the parish of Kirk Christ Rushen being of sound mind, memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament in manner following: That is to say, I give and bequeath to my DAUGHTER ANN WIFE OF JAMES CLUGSTON the sum of twenty pounds sterling as a legacy and to her DAUGHTER MY GRANDDAUGHTER ANN NOW THE WIFE OF MR GRACEY the sum of ten pounds sterling as a legacy.
To my DAUGHTER JANE WATTERSON WIFE OF THOMAS WATTERSON the sum of four pounds sterling as a legacy.
And to my GRANDDAUGHTER ELIZABETH WATTERSON the sum of fourteen pounds sterling and my cupboard as a legacy.
To the poor of the said parish of Rushen the sum of one pounds sterling as a legacy.
To my DAUGHTER MARGARET KERMODE WIFE OF HENRY KERMODE my bees now in her possession and six pence as a legacy having already provided for her.
To my GRANDSON JOHN WATTERSON I leave my watch as a legacy.
And to my said DAUGHTER ANN CLUGSTON I also leave and bequeath my feather bed with all belonging to it as a further legacy.
And I nominate constitute and appoint my said SON IN LAW DANIEL WATTERSON whole and sole executor and residuary legatee of all the rest of my money goods credits and effects.
In witness whereof I the said JOHN GAWNE have hereunto subscribed my name this the fifth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty five. JOHN GAWNE.

[stone T 14] In memory of John Kermode born March the 22d 1823, died happy in the Lord on the 18th of July 1862 aged 39 years, son of Henry Kermode and of Margaret Kermode als Gawne. Also in memory of Henry Kermode of Spaldrick who departed this life on the 16th of July 184 in the 77 year of his age, being one with Jesus. Also Margaret Kermode wife of the above died Jan 20th 1892 aged 94 years. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. Thomas died 1880 aged 53 years. Henry died 1883 aged 56 years. Sons of the above who died in Melbourne. Gone but not forgotten.

[stone T 15] Sacred to the memory of Jane Gawne alias Cottier wife of John Gawne of the Howe who departed this life 18th Feby 1834 aged 64 years. Also in memory of John Gawne, husband of the above who died March 31st 1857 aged 86 years. Also John Gawne son of the above named who died the 4th July 1857[sic, 1837] aged 27 years.
