In the name of God Amen. I Marey Redhead Otherwise Kneal of the Parish of Ballaugh Widow of Isaac Redhead deceased do make this my last Will and Testament in maner and form following being at the making thereof of sound ^in^ mind and memory and understanding I Comend my Soul to God and desire that my bodey receive decent Christian Burial I give and Bequeath To my Daughter Jane Copeland all and singular the rest residue or remainder of my Goods Rights Credits Chattels Money Notes [seccurities] Mortages and effects whatsoever and wheresoever for her own use benefit and behold of and I ^desire^ that my said daughter Jane Copeland to give or pay my son Isaac Redhead the same or amount of one shilling and my son William Redhead the sum of one shilling and my Daughter Rachel Looney the sum of one shilling and my daughter Margret Wheeler the sum of one shilling (if required) and declaring that my said daughter Jane Copeland is to be the Residuary Legatee of my personal Estate subject to the restrictions herein, before stated & as Witness My subscription on this the Thireth day of January one thousand eight hundred and Fortey seven 1847 Signed Published and } Marey Redhead declared by the Testatrix } her X mark as her last will and } Testament in our presence } who at her request have } become subscribing } Witnesses hereto Thomas Corlett John Corlett A Will At a Chapter Court holden at Kirk Michael on the 30th day of May 1850 - Thomas Corlett and John Corlett the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the Will of Mary Redhead deceased - made oath on the Holy Evangelists That said Testatrix when of sound and disposing mind and understanding duly signed and executed the same in their presence as and for her last Will and Testament - Jane Copeland the Residuary Legatee or Executrix therein named is thereof sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute said Will according to Law to pay all just debts, Legacies and Funeral expences of said Testatrix so far forth as the Goods and Effects will extend and the Law bind her and to return to the Archdeacon's Registry a full true and perfect Inventory of said Goods and Effects with an accurate account of her acts and proceedings in the premises when thereunto lawfully required and to these she hath given pledges namely, William Copeland and John Stephen who have executed a Bond to that effect bearing equal date herewith --- Probatum est T. W. Corlett Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this diocese hath this day granted probate of the Last Will and Testament of Mary Redhead being late of Ballaugh deceased, to Jane Copeland the Execx in said Will named And Whereas William Copeland of the Village in the Parish of Ballaugh and John Stephen of the Village in the Parish of Ballaugh have agreed to become pledges to the said Jane Copeland for the due administration of the said Estate according to Law Therefore know all men by these Presents, that we, the said William Copeland and John Stephen hereby [bind and obey] ourselves and our Executors and Administrators, as pledges to the said Jane Copeland for the due and faithful administration of the goods and effects of the said deceased according to law. And in Her default we bind ourselves and our Executors and Administrators to be answerable to all p……. created in the said Estate, or the Administration thereof.
