Isle of Man Wills - 1837
I William Gick of Cordeman in the parish of KK Malew knowing and considering the uncertainty and frailty of this mortal
life but being at present of sound mind, memory and understanding do make ____ and declare this to be my last will and testament
in manner following that is to say)-
First - I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to decent Christian burial.
Secondly - I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Kelly the sum of one hundred pounds British unto my daughter Dorothy Clucas wife of John Clucas the sum of fifty pounds British and unto my daughter Esther Quine wife of John Quine the sum of fifty pounds British.
Thirdly - I leave and bequeath unto my grandchildren Isabella, Jane, Ann, Agnus and Elizabeth daughters of William Kelly deceased of Balla(g)lonney in the parish of Marown the sum of twenty pounds British each and to my granddaughters Ann Bridson daughter of Thomas Bridson Balla(g)lonney deceased the sum of twenty pounds British and which legacy of twenty pounds British she is not to receive until she arrives at the age of twenty one years and to her sister Elizabeth Bridson the sum of 5 shillings British. Likewise to my grandchildren William, Thomas, John, Christian, Catharine, Elizabeth and Esther, children of my son William Gick deceased the sum of ten shillings British each. Likewise to my grandson John Kelly son of William Kelly deceased of the town of Douglas the sum of two pounds British and to my grandson James Kelly son of William Kelly deceased of Marown ________ ______ and to my granddaughter Christiana Davidson the sum of two pounds British.
Fourthly - I nominate constitute and appoint my beloved daughter Isabella Davidson whole and sole executive and residuary legative of this my last will and testament of all the rest of my goods and effects moveable and immoveable or what kind of description whatsoever or wheresoever situate hereby revoking all former wills or wills heretofore made barring all other claimants with two shillings and sixpence legacy as witness my name this nineteenth day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven.
