Episcopal Wills 1836 Braddan #1, of William Leece

In the name of God Amen
I William Leece of Seaview Cottage
in the parish of Braddan being
of sound and disposing mind,
memory and understanding at
the time of making hereof, but
considering the uncertainty of this
life do make this my last will
and testament in manner following
that is to say
I commit my soul to God, and my body to
be buried by my executrix herein after
mentioned
I give devise and bequeath unto my brother
John Leece all and singular certain lands
and premises part of the estate of Ballamona [? dark copy]
in the said parish of Braddan which was 
some time ago settled upon me by John Leece
and Ann Leece [nee Bridson] my father and mother
subject to and chargeable with the sum or
payment of the sum of one hundred
pounds British to my executors herein
after named exclusive of any other debt
charge or incumbrance upon the said
lands.
I give and bequeath unto my sister Ann
the wife of Thomas Creer of Ballaslig in
the said parish of Braddan and to my
sister Catherine the wife of William Kneale
of the Rhea ? in the parish of Lonan, all
and singular that estate and those
houses lands and premises called
Ballachrink situate in the said parish
of Braddan, now in the tenure or
occupation of James Wilson as tenant
thereof, which said premises are bounded
on the North by the rent of William Moore
on the East by the rent of Robert Leece
on the South by a stone wall lately erected
by me between the said estate of Ballachrink
and certain lands and premises
now in my own occupation to have
and to hold the said estate houses
lands and premises bounded and
described as aforesaid unto the said
Ann Creer and Catharine Kneale
their heirs and assigns for ever
in equal share, subject to and chargeable
with the payments of such mortgages
or other securities as now affect the
said estate of Ballachrink.
I give and bequeath unto my sister Elizabeth
the wife of William Cubbon of Bealeneya ? in
the said parish of Braddan all and
singular that cottage called "Seaview"
by me lately erected in the said parish of
Braddan together with all outoffices garden
plantation and the field in front of
thereof which adjoins the Kings high
road on the south and the stonewall
aforesaid on the north.
I give and bequeath unto my sister Esther
Leece of Ballamona in Braddan aforesaid
that dwelling house outoffices garden and
premises which adjoins the Kings highroad
leading to Douglas and which premises
are now in the tenure or occupation of
Howard Cain as tenant thereof
I also give and bequeath to my said
sister Esther the sum of one hundred
pounds sterling
I give and bequeath to Jane Dean the wife 
of George Dean of Bingley in Yorkshire
that dwelling house backyard offices and
garden situate in Bigwell Street in
Douglas aforesaid now in the tenure
or occupation of Christian Fargher
as tenant thereof bounded on thr
east by the rent of [blank] on the
south bu the said street and on the
north by the rent of [blank]
I give and bequeath to my brother
James Leece that dwelling house in
Hanover street with the backyard
outoffices and premises now in the tenure
or occupation of Elizabeth Harrison as
tenant thereof, together with that large
garden adjoining the said premises
which is now in my own occupation
which said latter premises adjoin the
rent of Elizabeth Kennaugh widow of
Edward Kennaugh deceases and
Queen street on the south, the rent
of Margret Clucas on the west and Hanover
Street on the north.
I give and bequeath unto my brothers
Paul Leece and Cesar Leece in equal
share all and singular those two dwelling
houses and premises situate in James
street in Douglas aforesaid now in
the tenure or occupation of John Leece
Joseph Younghusband and William
Gick as tenants thereof which said two
dwelling houses and premises adjoin
the rent of Thomas Gelling on the 
north and James street aforesaid
on the south
I give and bequeath to my brothers
Caesar Leece and Paul Leece, that dwelling
house, backyard offices buildings and
premises situate in and near Queen
street in Douglas aforesaid now in
the tenure or occupation of Barnara
Smith, Charles Cleater and others as
tenants  thereof, which said latter premises
adjoin the rents of Godfrey Tate and
Calcott Heywood on the east, the said
street on the south, the rent of the said
Elizabeth Kennaugh on the west and the
rent oWilliam Kelly on the north
to have and to hold the said several
premises to the said Paul Leece and
Caesar Leece their heirs and assigns
in equal share for ever, subject to
and chargeable with the sum of two 
hundred pounds British to be paid
to my executors hereinafter named
I give devise and bequeath unto my
nieces Ann Kelly and Margret Kelly the
daughters of John Kelly of the estate of
the "Rock" in the parish of Marown the
sum of one hundred and five
pounds British to be equally divided
between them which said sum is secured
to me by mortgage or bond and
securirty on the said estate
I give and bequeath to Alice Curphy
who now lives with me the sum of
fifty pounds British.
I give and bequeath to my nephew
John Cubbon the sum of Fifty Pounds
British
I give and bequeath to my nephew
Robert Kelly the sum of thirty pounds
British
I give and bequeath to my father
John Leece the sum of one hundred 
pounds British
And I do herby nominate constitute
and appoint William Cubbon my brother
in law and Paul Leece my brother whole
and sole execurtors and residuary
legatees in equal share of all the rest
residue and remainder of my goods
chattels property and effects of every
nature and kind whatsover and
whereever; hereby revoking and making
void all and every former will
or will by me hereunto made or
executed And I do declare this
only to be my last will and
testament As witness my
subscription this eighteenth day
of May one thousand eight hundred
and thirty five (1835)
