At a Consistory Court held at Douglas 25th day of May 1819
Jane Redfern als Cannell of the town of Douglas having departed this life on or about the month of December last past intestate anmd the court having received intelligence thereofhath decreed the four children namely William, George, Robert and Jane Redfern co-administrators of all and singular her goods, rights credits, chattels and effects moveable and immoveable whatever - the said William, George, Robert and Jane being under age their father George Redfern is sworn their guardian and supervisor and in trust for them well and truly to administer the estate of the intestate to exhibit a full true and perfect inventory thereof into the Episcopal Registry to pay all her just debts so far forth as the goods will extend and the law bind him and to be accountable for his administration when thereunto lawfully required and to these ends he has given pledges in form of law namely James Quark (who is also sworn joint guardian of the children under age) and Paul Cain both of Douglas Decretum est

MI Old Braddan North Side #160: Jane Redfern died Dec 7 1818 age 40, also William Cannell smith of town of Douglas died April 15 1789 age 38 [presumeably her father] ; Ann Redfern died 29 Aug 1802 aged 7 months.
It is possible that the supervisor James Quark was the James Quark, butcher, who died in Fancy Street Douglas age 38 Manx Advertiser 27 Sep 1831 - a 15 year old James Quark is found in the 1841 census with George Redfern St George's Walk Douglas.
