"John Christian Ballacallow Will. October 8th 1799: In the name of God, amen. The last will and testament of John Christian of Ballacallow in the Parish of KK Bride being sick & rather weak in body but of perfect sound mind and memory at the making hereof. First, I do commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial. Item, I do leave and bequeath to my brother William Christian the amount of all the money Mortgages in his own hands belonging to me, as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to my brother’s son in law namely John Crow Airy all the money belonging to me which is in Mortgage in John Crow’s own lands, as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to my sister Judy Christian all the money belonging to me in Phecan Cockagh[?] in Mortgage and all the Money belonging to me in John Kneale roos’s[?] in Mortgage and also a quarter of my crop as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to my sister Bahee Christian all the money belonging to me in mortgage in Clos ny Gramman and also the amount of a mortgage in Wm Colley’s Croft and also a quarter of my crop as a legacy. I do leave and bequeath to Daniel Kneen two pounds of the money which he has in his own hands belong to me as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to Daniel Christian Ballabeg fifteen pounds of the money which Daniel Kneen has belonging to me as legacy. Item, I do leave and bequeath to John Christian Ballafail, John Christian Ballaquark, and William Christian Balla____[?Ballabeg, hidden in fold] three pounds of the money belonging to me in mortgage in Ballachroink as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to my sister Mary Christian Ballaquark ten pounds of the money belonging to me in mortgage in Ballachroink as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to my grandnephew John Christian widow Christian’s son twenty ponds of the money belonging to me in mortgage in Patrick Kneale’s land as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to the four children which Margaret Christian Ballavarky’s widow has at her house twenty pounds between them of the money belonging to me in Mortgage in Patrick Kneale’s land as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to Marget Christian widow Ballavarky’s the money she has in her own hands belonging to me, as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to the poor of the Parish KK Bride xxxxxxx pounds to be put on interest for their use. I do leave and bequeath to Phillip Christian, xxxxxx[?Laly… or Sal. . . . {too dark to read}] Christian, and Charlotte Christian all of Ballaquark twenty pounds between them of the money belonging to me in mortgage in Gilbert Christian’s land, as legacy; and the remainder of the money which Gilbert Christian has to my Executrixes. I do leave and bequeath to my sisters Judy Christian and Bahee Christian the assignment which I have on the estate of Grenaby and also the amount of a mortgage which James Brew Esquire had in the aforesaid Estate which I clear’d of, as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to my grandnephew William Christian widow Christian Ballavarky’s’s son the amount of a mortgage which John Kneale Stanley had on the Estate of Grenaby which I cleard of and also which Thomas Cowin had which I clear’d of as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to my grandnephew Wm Christian widow Christian Ballavarky’s’s son one half or moiety of my horses, cattle, and sheep, one cart, plow, and harrows, and a quarter of my crop as legacy, and likewise I do appoint John Cowle and Robert Cowle of Ballavarky’s as guardians to take care of my aforesaid grandnephew William Christian. I do leave and bequeath to Isabel Christian, Marget Christian, and Jane Christian Ballabeg my sister’s children ten pounds each as legacy of the money which I have in mortgage in the San’s Croft and the remainder of said mortgage which I have in Sans Croft to Daniel Christian Ballabeg as legacy. I do leave and bequeath to Daniel Christian Ballabeg all the money which I have in mortgage in Thomas Kareen’s house and also one quarter of my crop as legacy. And lastly I do nominate, constitute, appoint, and ordain my sisters Judy Christian and Bahee Christian whole and sole Executrixis of all the rest of my goods, chattels and effects moveable and immoveable of what kind soever, and to the witnesses of my will five shillings each as legacy. At a Court holden at KK Bride on the 25th day of April 1800: The Executrices are sworn in Court in form of Law and have given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely Mr. William Christian of Ballayonaig in the parish of KK Bride and William Joughin one of the witnesses. Probatum est, John Crellin. To the Revd John Crellin Vicar General of the Northern District of this Isle, The humble petition of Joney Christian and Bahee Christian both of the Parish of KK Bride. Sheweth, That you petitioner’s brother John Christian of the Parish of KK Bride died in or about the Month of Decr last past and made his will and left his sister’s your petitioners Executrixis of all his goods moveable and immoveable of what kind soever, That there are several legacies left by their deceased brother in his aforesaid Will to a considerable amount That your petitioners are old and feeble and unable to travel which renders them humbly to apply to your Reverence for relief.
