Kk German To the Revd Mr Evan Christian Vicar Genl The humble petition of John Gawne of Peeltown Sheweth that Thomas Costain of said town your petrs father in law, in the latter end of the month of December 1791, departed this life intestate, and as there cannot be a just settlement of the rights goods and effects of the sd Thos Costain had, untill a decree be made on the sd deceased which causeth your petr to apply to your Reverence for relief In tender consideration thereof your petr humbly prays that your reverence will be pleased to grant an order that administration may be able to do justice to all concerned, the granting of which, will cause yor petr to pray &c Ordered that the beforegoing peition do come on to be heard at a chapter court to be holden in the house of Thos Quine in the parish on Friday next whereof all proper parties and persons to have due notice Given at Kk Patrick 13th June 1792 Ev Christian At a chapter court holden at the house of Thos Quine in the parish of Kk Patrick on the 16th day of June 1792 Thomas Costean of the town of Peel departed this life in or about the month of December 1791 and this court having received intelligence thereof have decreed his children namely Thomas, Charles, Catharine and Isabel Costean als Crellin co-administrators of all and singular his goods chattels and effects moveable and immoveable whatever and the said Thomas being absent from court, the said charles with John Gawn husband of the said Catharine and Thomas Crellin husband of the said Isabel are thereupon sworn well and truly to administer the estate of the intestate, to pay all his just debts so far forth as his goods and effects will extend and the law shall bind them, to return a perfect inventory of the said goods and effects to the registry of this court and to be faithful and just each to the other as also to their absent co-administrator in the division of the residuem of the said estate. To which ends they have given pledges in form of law namely David Collister and John White both of Peeltown decretum est En Christian 28th May 1793 John Gawne claims £11 0 0 do Chas Costean claims £11 0 0 do Thos Crellin claims £11 0 0 An inventory of the goods & effects of Thos Costain late deceased being valued & apprised by four men viz Matts Cain, Jas Cowin, Patk Clucas & Willm Quayle and sworn by Wm Oates sumner of Kk German are as follows

Thomas Costean - bur Peel 29 Dec 1790, bur register has Ballyiack - Feltham has MI 1793 Thomas Costain, buried 29th December age 73 - no appropriate birth in IGI, however the Costain family name is very much connected with Arbory and the parish register pre 1728 is no longer extant.
wife Catherine Dawson bur. 29 Aug 1761 Kk German - m. 22 Jan 1751 Kk Patrick.
The children's baptisms are all at Kk German unless otherwise noted.
Thomas bp 30 May 1752 (only father given) - no burial found however
Thomas bp 18 Oct 1753 - he (probably rather than father) is noted as Thomas Costain Boatbuilder as witness to Isabella's marriage
Catharine bp 12 Oct 1755 at Kk Patrick (only father given) - m. John Gawne 4 Oct 1776, witnesses Thomas Quirk Mariner & John Clark Mariner
Elizabeth bp 18 Jul 1757 - query = Isabel ? m. Thomas Crellin 13 Nov 1791
Charles bp 9 Sep 1759 - in 1788 noted as shoemaker as witness to marriage of Ann Dawson + Richard Quirk
