"This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Joney Halsal alias Clucas who departed this life on or about the 16th day of April 1784, being imperfect mind and memory at the making thereof. First, she committed her soul to God and her body to Christian burial. Item, she bequeathed unto her five children, vizt., Thomas, Ellinor, Margaret, Cathrine, and Ann, the sum of forty pounds to be equally divided among them. Item, she bequeathed all her wearing clothes unto her two daughters Ellinor and Margaret. Item, she bequeathed a sheep and a lamb unto each of her daughters, vizt., Ellinor, Margaret, Cathrine and Ann. Item, she bequeathed a legacy according to Law unto her eldest son William. Item, she xxx and bequeathed to her husband William Halsal all her right title property and interest in and to their purchased lands of whatever denomination. And Lastly, she nominated constituted and appointed her said loving husband sole Executor of this her last will, and residuary legatee of all her goods, rights, credits, chattels, and effects moveable and immoveable whatever. At a Chapter Court holden at St Johns Chapel June 14th, 1784, The Executor is sworn in Court in form of Law as also guardian and supervisor of the children underage and has given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies, namely Philip Clucas of Booillie Chainee, and James Crellin, both of KK Patrick. Ellinor Halsall, one of the children at age, is also sworn guardian and supervisor of her brother and sisters under age."
