Archdeacon Wills 1771 #54, Rushen, of John Crebbin (yane) of Soroby, Rushen:

‘The last will and testament of John Crebbin (yane) of Soroby in the Parish of Trinity Rushen, made and declared about two days before his death, who departed this life about March 26th, 1771. First, he commended his soul to Almighty God and his body to Christian burial. Also, he bequeathed to his daughter Anne Kelly als Crebbin the sum of four pounds. Also, he bequeathed to his said daughter’s children two or three lambs among them, if there should be lambs. Also, be bequeathed his part of the purchased lands unto his son William Crebbin. Also, he bequeathed one shilling unto his son John. Lastly, he nominated and appointed his said son William Crebbin sole executor of all the rest of his goods and effects moveable and immoveable, and Margaret Crebbin als Craine als Corlet wife of the Testator consented to leave her part of the said purchased lands to her son the said William Corlett to be possess and enjoyed by him after her decease. Witnesses: Henry Waterson, Thomas Kermode. I do consent to this will that my son William Crebbin shall have the possession of the one half of the purchased lands therein mentioned as witness my name or mark this 17th April 1771. [signed her mark] Margarey Crebbin. Witnesses: Matthias Taggart, Thomas Gann.

At a Chapter Court holden at Castletown 5th June 1771, the executor is sworn in Court in form of Law, and hath given pledges for payment of debts and legacies, vizt., the witnesses of the will. Margt Crebbin the widow being now in Court has given her consent that her part of the purchased lands shall descend to her son William Crebbin after her decease as within more fully expressed.’
