Archdeacon Will 1763 #71, Andreas, of Daniel Wade, died about 11 March 1763:

"KK Andrews 1763: This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Daniel Wade of the parish of KK Andrews, who departed this life on or about the 11th day of the month of March 1763, being of perfect mind and sound memory at the making thereof. First, he committed his soul to God, and his body to Christian burial. Item, he left and bequeathed to his son John Wade his part or half of a parcel of land called Gatt-e-Churry situated in the parish of Lezaire (which he the Testator purchased from William Kewley) but in case his said son John Wade (who is a child of one year of age at or about the feast of Saint Andrews last past) should happen to die, that then and in that case his loving wife Joney Wade alias Cowll should have and enjoy said Gatt-e-Churry, and the same to be at her own disposal, according to her own pleasure. Item, he left to his father in law John Cowll a guinea, and as much of his clothes as he would be pleased to wear. Item, he left to John Cowll the big pott. Item, he left to his nephew Daniel wade a blue coat and a black vest. Item, he left twenty shillings equally between his brother’s children, namely John, Alice and Bahee Wade. Item, he left to said Alice Wade the red silk handkerchief that hath the little stamps in it. Item, he left to Cath: Cowll a red silk handkerchief with a gown of stuff. Item, he declared that said John Cowll was allowed to cut as much turf in said Gatt-e-Curry as would be sufficient for the necessary use of his house during his the said Cowll’s lifetime. Item, he left the benefit of his part of the said Gatt-e-Churrry to his said wife Joney Wade alias Cowll during her natural life upon condition that she would consent to give her part thereof to his aforesaid son John Wade after her decease. Item, he declared that John Quirk owed him fifty shillings, and John Martin three pounds British. He also said that William Kneale of Lezaire owed him four pounds and the interest thereof for three years. He said that Parson Gill owed him twenty shillings, and that John Kinry of KK Andrews owed him forty and eight shillings, and that Ewan Christian of BalnaCree in KK Bride owed him an English shillings, and that James Wade of BallaVastin in KK Andrews owed him four shillings. And Daniel Christian (Barry) of the same parish owed five shillings. And that the remainder of half a guinea after his proportion of a year’s Lord’s and Carriages were deducted thereout, was due to him from Philip Wade. Lastly, he nominated his wife Joney Wade alias Cowll aforesaid sole and whole Executrix of all the rest of his goods and effects moveable and immoveable of what kind, nature or denomination soever. And to the witnesses of the will he left fourteen pence apiece. Witnesses: James Garret, William Tear.

At a Chapter Court holden at Lezayre 1st June 1763: John Wade orphan son of the Testator Daniel Wade being under age, Daniel Wade his next of kin & cousin German on the father’s side is sworn supervisor of the said orphan and is to bring to the Registry a perfect Inventory of the Goods of the Deceased. There being no lawful legacy left and bequeathed to the said John Wade. The widow is also sworn co-Executor with the said Daniel Wade and they have given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely James Wade & William Sayle both of KK Andrews. Xx February 1764: John Cowll enters a claim against the Executors of Daniel Wade for the sum of 9 shillings 4 pence, and craves the Law. 7th June 1763, Andrews, Ar. Reg.: The Inventory of the moveable & immoveable goods of Daniel Wade of KK Andrews, late deceased viewed and valued by four sworn men, vizt., Richard Kneale, Daniel Teare, Edward Camaish, & William Kneale, as follows: First, to one cow and one calf valued at 3 pounds 8 shillings 1 pence, the Dead’s part amounts to 2:5:4; Item, to an heifer at 1:7:0, the Dead’s part comes to 0:18:0; Item, to five yearlings, six sheep and six lambs at 10:16:0, the Dead’s part amounts to 1:4:0; Item, to a spaid, a rake and a board at 5 shillings, the Dead’s part at 0:0:2 1/2; Item, to one razor and one file at 6 pence, the Dead’s part 0:0:3; Item, to one iron bolt wholly on the Dead’s part at 0:0:5; Item, to one fishing swabin and one fishing clepp at 6 shillings the 1/2 0:0:3; Item, to two sacks at 1 shilling 6 pence, the Dead’s part come to 0:0:9; Item, to one pair of shoes at 10 pence the Dead’s part comes to 0:0:5 1/2; Item, to one barrel at 2 shillings, the Dead’s part amounts to 0:1:0; Item, to one wheel 4 shillings, and one tub 1 shilling 4 pence, total 5 shilling 4 pence, the 1/2 0:2:8; Item to two ropes and some cords at 2 shillings 6 pence, the Dead’s part 0:1:3; Item, to one barrel at 2 shillings 8 pence, the Dead’s part comes to 0:1:4; Item, to three yards of plading at 1 shilling 4 pence per, comes to 4 shillings, the 1/2 0:2:0; Item, to six yards and 1/2 of russet cloth at 1 shilling 6 pence per, the 1/2 0:4:10; Item, to some pieces of timber at 1 shilling 3 pence, the Dead’s part is 0:0:7 1/2; Item, to two dales at 2 shillings 8 pence, the Dead’s part is 0:1:4; Item, to one bottle and some pieces of iron at 10 pence, the Dead’s part 0:0:5; Item, to two pairs of nets and some lines 11 shillings, the Dead’s part 0:5:6; Item, to one loom and its gears at 16 shillings, the Dead’s part 0:8:0; Item, to some thrums at 3 1/2 pence, the Dead’s part is 0:0:1 3/4; Item, one chest 4 shillings, the Dead’s part is 0:2:0; Item, to three sheets at 8 shillings, the Dead’s part is 0:4:0; Item, to one chaff-bed and two beadsteads at 7 shillings, the Dead’s part 0:3:6; Item, to one pott at 8 shillings, the Dead’s part 0:4:0; Item, to one panner[?] and one tobacco patch at 7 pence, the Dead’s part 0:0:3 1/2; Total 6 pounds xx shillings xx pence.

At Ballaugh March 9th, 1764: It appearing that the Funeral charges of Daniel Wade late of KK Andrews, annexed to his will and Inventory Lib. 2nd 1763 Ar. Reg. Amount to the sum of three pounds, three shillings and four pence, and whereas it is admitted by Daniel Wade supervisor of John Wade orphan and Co-Executor with his mother Joney Wade als Cowle, as also by her the said Joney, that the several particulars therein mentioned were disbursed at the expense of John Cowle father in law to the deceased; Ordered xxx the said amount of the funeral charges be paid said John Cowle by the said DAnl. Wade and said Joney Wade subpoena juni with all fees.

15th September 1764: To be annexed to the Inventory of Daniel Wade of KK Andreas, late deceased: to twelve pounds which is incumbent (by a Deed of Mortgage) upon a part of John Harrison’s lands 12 pounds 0 shillings 0 pence; To one pound & sixteen shillings which is due upon account of the above said Deed of Mortgage 1:16:0; To ten shillings more due from said Harrison 0:10:0; Total 14:xx:xx; The Dead’s part 7:xx:xx. At a Chapter Court at Lezayre 12 Jun 1765, Delivered to the Court by Daniel Wade supervisor of John Wade orphan. There is the crop of a parcel of meadow land for the 2 years past to be yet added.

At Ballaugh March 16th 1764: John Quirk of KK Andrews having owed Daniel Wade late of said parish deceased the sum of one pound eight shillings, as acknowledged upon oath, ordered that the dead’s part thereof be discharged and paid to Daniel Wade supervisor of the Orphan of the deceased and to Joney Wade relict and Co-executor with said Orphan, subpoena juni with all fees. We whose names are subscribed being a jury of four men sworn by John Radcliffe Sumner of KK Andreas, in obedience to an authority of the Spiritual Court, to value the goods of Daniel Wade and being charged likewise to value the crop of a parcel of meadow situated in the parish of KK Christ Lezayre the property of the aforesaid Daniel Wade deceased, and after having appeared upon the spot and valued the same, do apprize and value the yearly benefit and profit of said parcel to be worth one pound four shillings per year Lord’s Rent & other dues inclusive, And this we return for our verdict as Witness our names and marks, this the 12th day of xxx 1765. At a Chapter Court held at Lezayre 27th October 1767: The Jury of valuation have delivered the above verdict or return. We William Radcliffe husband of Joney Radcliffe alias Wade als Cowle on of the Executors of her former husband Daniel Wade, as also Daniel Wade supervisor of John Wade the minor son of the said Daniel Wade deceased former husband to the said Joney Radcliffe do hereby acknowledge to have received at and from the hands of John Martin of the Parish of KK Andrews the full and just sum of three pounds British currency with all interest due thereon which the said John Martin owed unto the said Daniel Wade deceased at the time of his death and as mentioned by the said Daniel Wade in his last will and testament, and we the said William Radcliffe and Daniel Wade supervisor of said Minor do hereby release, acquit and discharge the said John Martin his heirs Executors, Administrators and Assigns of the said sum or debt forever as witness our marks to our names the 27th March 1769.
