Archdeacon Wills 1761 #51, German, of William Cooper senior, of Peeltown:

‘This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of William Cooper senior of Peeltown who departed this life the 5th of October 1760, he being at the time he made this will of perfect mind and memory. First, he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. He bequeathed unto his grandson Matthew Cowle his horse, saddle and bridle, and all his apparel. To his son William Cooper and to all other persons claiming any right to his effects, he left six pence legacy. Lastly, he nominated, constituted and appointed his loving wife Catharine Cooper als Moore whole and sole executrix of all the rest of his effects whatsoever. Witnesses: Thomas Cottier, Margaret Skealley.

At a Chapter Court holden at Ballnahowin 5th June 1761, Catharine Cooper als Moore the executrix named in the within and above Will being old and infirm and unable to attend the Court, her son in law James Cowle is therefore in her stead and behalf sworn executor in Court in form of Law, and hath given pledges for payment of debts and legacies, namely Robert Wattleworth of Castletown and John Gell Kenna.’
