This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Margarett Crebbin
als Bell, who departed this life the 26th of March 1761, being in
perfect mind and memory at the making thereof.
First, she committed her soul to God and body to Christian burial.
Item, she bequeathed to her loving husband a feather bed and bolster & after
his death the said bed and bolster to her daughter Isable.
She bequeathed to her eldest son William six shillings and to her said son Williams
eldest son an ewe lamb.
She bequeathed to her son John half the husbandry gears, to her daughter Margarett
a blanket, a fine and coarse sheet, a sack & her share of the sheep between
them. And between her daughter Margaret and Isable all her wearing apparel.
She bequeathed to her daughter Margaretts two eldest children five pounds
equally between them, and the said five pounds to be left in the hands of her
son John & daughter Isable until the children would come to age.
She left to her daughter Isable ten pounds, a spinning wheel and all her share
of the pewter plates.
Lastly, she nominated constituted and appointed her loving son John & daughter
Isable equal and joint executors of all the rest of her goods moveable and immoveable
whatsoever.
And six pence legacy to all cravers.
Witneesses: William Kneale, John Leece.
At a Chapter Court holden at Castletown 3rd June 1761, the executors are sworn in Court in form of law and have given pledges for the payment of debts & legacies, namely Wm Kneale & John Leece the Witnesses of the will.
Received from the hands of John Crebbin of the parish KK St Ann the sum of two pounds ten shillings in full of his part, or share of a legacy left by Margt. Crebbin als Bell, I say received by us this 20th June 1781. [signed] Thomas Cottier, Francis Fannan [his mark]
June 20th, 1781, Thomas Cottier husband of Margt Fannan & Francis Fannan the two eldest children of Margt Fannan the eldest grandchildren of Margt Crebbin acknowledge the above receipt & discharge before me. [signed] Tho Cubbon.
