Episcopal Will 18 June 1761, Michael, of Isabel Cannell als Quayle, of Baark, Michael:

"KK Michael, At a Consistory Court holden at Balnyhown, June 18, 1761: Isabel Cannell als Quayle departed this life on about the 2nd day of this Instant June, intestate. The Court upon intelligence thereof hath decreed her six children namely Thomas, William, Cath;, John, Patrick, & Isabel Cannell joint Administrators of all her goods & chattels moveable and immoveable whatsoever, the five latter being under age, & Thomas though of age, yet not out of his youth, thought incapable to undertake the charge of the goods, Mary Savage als Quayle widow & Ann Quayle aunts by the Mother’s side are decreed Supervisors. Ann only being present is sworn Supervisor in form of Law, and consents that the Dead’s part of the children and their goods be committed to the tuition of Thomas Cannell the widower, who with Ann are sworn to bring to the Registry a perfect Inventory; he is sworn for payment of debts and hath given pledges in form of Law namely John Caine Barnagh in KK Michael & Philip Garret of Ballaugh. Michael: We whose names are subscribed being a Jury of four men sworn by virtue of the Revd Matthias Curghey Vicar General’s authority, to appraize and estimate the yearly xxx of the one half or moiety of the quarter land Baark in the Parish of KK Michael, belonging to Thomas Cannel junior lately arrived to fourteen years, by the death of his mother Isabel Cannel als Quayle, do xxx the yearly value of the same to four pounds five shillings Lord’s Rent and all dues and xxx herein included. And this we humbly give for our return herein. At witness our names and marks hereunto set this 25th of January 1763. [signed their marks] William Quayle, John Quayle, William Cain, William Cannon. At Ballaugh January 25th 1763: The Jurors returned the above as their verdict. Before me, Matths. Curghey."
