Archdeacon Will 1758 #73, Bride, of John Castle of Hown Lough, Bride, died 25 March 1758:

"The Last will and testament of John Castle of Hown Lough in the parish of KK Bride, who departed this life March the 25th in the year of our Lord 1758. First he bequeathed his soul to God who gave it, and his body to a Christian burial And as for all his worldly goods and chattels he leaves them as follows: Imprimis, he leaves to his well beloved son and heir Samuel Castle a quarter of the crop and his part of the husbandry gears. And to Isabella and Esther Castle daughters to the said Heir Samuel Castle one sheep and lamb. To his Daughter Esther he leaves a bullock which is now in her possession. And to two of her children vizt., William and Esther he leaves one sheep and a lamb. To his daughter Cathrine a furnished bed which is now in her hands, and to her son John a yearling calf which is now in the house and nominated for him. To his son Thomas Castle he leaves twenty shillings. To his brother’s son Daniel Castle he leaves thirty shillings. He hath nominated and appointed his wife to be sole Executrix of all his goods. To the witnesses that is to put in his Will one shilling each for their trouble. Witnesses: John Christian, Robert Colkett.

At a Consistory Court held at Lezayre June 13th, 1748: The Executrix is sworn in Court in form of Law and hath given pledges for payment of debts and legacies, namely John Christian & Robert Calcott the witnesses of the Will."
