Kk Maughold Novr 3d 1755 James Kneale perished by sea on the coast of Scotland on or about the 18th of Sepr last intestate whereupon the court has decreed his two children namely John & Isabel Kneale, joint adminors of all his goods & chattells moveable & imoveable whatsoever, who being both under age their uncle by the father's side namely John Kneale is sworn supervisor & consents that the deads part of the children & their goods be comitted to the widow, as also that in case the sd children should die underage their goods to be equally between him & sd widow she the sd widow is accordingly sworn to bring to the registry a perfect inventory, as also for payment of debts pledges for her in form of law are Jas Kneale of Kk Maughold & Robt Kneale of Lezayre decretum est solvit 2s 7d Ro Radcliffe Matths Curghey Nov 3 Ewan Gill enters a claim agt the admrs of Jas Kneale for 6 10 0 1736 Feb 17 Capt Wm Callow claims for £2 13 0 June 1st Thos Kneale claims for £1 4 6 At a chapter court holden at Lezayre June 25 1760 Whereas Cath the relict & widow of James Kneale within mentioned was about six months after the decease of her sd husband (& about four months subsequent to the date of the within decree) bought to bed of a posthumous daughter named Elizth for whom no provision was made in the sd decree ; and that Isabel Kneal one of the Adminors in sd decree mentioned departed this life in her minority about the month of March 1758 - the court having intelligence hereof now decrees that the sd Elizth Kneale & her brother John Kneale joint adminrs of all the goods & chattels of their father James Kneale & sister Isabel Kneale share & share alike - sd John & Elizth being both under age John Kneale the uncle by the father's side is sworn supervisor in form of law & consents that the tuition of the deads part of the children & their goods remain in the hands of their mother as within mentioned who has before given pledges in form of law decretum est Ro Radcliffe Matths Curghey A true inventory of the goods of James Kneale of Ballacowill in the parish of Kk Maughold (who lately was perished at sea) and having been apprized by four men sworn by the sumner, vizt Thomas Stoal, John Cowle, Edward Corrin and John Cowin is as follows ...
