KK Michael: In the name of God, amen. This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Mrs. Mary Moore als Gill wife of the Revd Mr. Edward Moore vicar General & Vicar of KK Michael, made upon Sunday the eleventh day of April and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty nine. First, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory she commended her soul to God and her body to Christian burial and as touching such worldly effects as it pleased God to bless her with she disposed of the same in manner following. Item, to the poor of the parish she left and bequeathed forty shillings either to be distributed amongst them or to be laid out for their advantage at the discretion of her executor. Item, she left and bequeathed to her eldest son Edward Moore one hundred pounds in legacy. Item, to her son John Moore she left one hundred pounds legacy. Item, she left and bequeathed to her daughter Mary Moore one hundred and fifty pounds legacy. Item, she left and bequeathed to her daughter Catherine Moore one hundred pounds legacy. Item, she left to the witnesses of her will half a crown each, and, Lastly, she nominated and appointed her loving husband the Revd. Edward Moore sold executor of all her goods, chattels and effects moveable and immovable whatsoever. Witnesses: Thomas Cain, John Cain.
At KK Michael May the 1st 1749, the Witnesses have proved the contents of the within will in form of Law. Whereupon her husband the Revd. Mr. Moore is sworn executor as also supervisor of the children underage, and has given pledges for payment of debts and legacies namely, Thomas Cain and John Cain the witnesses of the will.
